How does a trip or boat inquiry work?
After browsing a trip or boat, click the “Inquire” button (or fill out the general inquiry form). Your message and contact details are sent directly to the trip organizer/captain or boat owner — they’ll get in touch with you directly within 1–2 business days with further details and to confirm the booking.
How does booking and payment work?
Sailing Accelerator is an informational platform — payment for the trip or rental itself happens directly between you and the captain / boat owner, according to the terms they specify (bank transfer, cash, or another method they indicate). The platform does not accept or forward payments.
What is the damage deposit and how is it paid?
Most boat rentals include a damage deposit — an amount that guarantees the boat will be returned in good condition. This deposit is paid directly to the captain or boat owner on site (usually at handover) and refunded after the trip if the boat is undamaged — according to the terms agreed with the owner. You’ll find the exact deposit amount for a specific boat on its listing page.
Is posting listings free for captains and boat owners?
Currently — no fee. In Phase I, posting trip and boat listings on Sailing Accelerator is completely free for captains and boat owners. We want the community to grow first — we’ll announce any changes in advance.
How do I register my boat for rent?
Log in to your account and fill out the boat registration form — provide the boat’s specifications, port, and photos. Your listing will be approved and appear in the boat rental list.
How do I offer / post my own trip?
Once logged in, you can create a trip listing — specifying the dates, region, price, and number of free spots. Other users will be able to inquire and join your trip.
Who is responsible if something goes wrong during the trip?
Since the trip or rental is organized by the captain / boat owner, they are responsible for the trip’s safety, the boat’s seaworthiness, and fulfilling the agreed terms. The platform only helps you find each other — read more in the Terms & Conditions.
